Lighting Design, Communications & Electrical Distribution System
Lincoln University, Pennsylvania

  • Comprehensive electrical engineering services for Lincoln University – a 44-building campus located on 400 acres of land in Lower Oxford Township, Pennsylvania.
  • Lighting design concept utilizes energy efficient/low maintenance fixtures and includes a campus-wide walkway, parking and security lighting system with ornamental light standards using efficient, long life (100,000 hour) induction lamp system.
  • Replacement of the existing electrical distribution system and all related parts, i.e., transformers, transmission lines, panels and swithgear. Also included a new standby generator and associated wiring and replacement of the existing communications infrastructure system.
  • The power portion of the project consisted of a new 3750 kVA, 34 kV to 4.16 kV double ended substation and two 4.16 kV, 1500 kW diesel generators with paralleling gear and new 4.16 kV distribution from new substation to 35 existing buildings. The new distribution consisted of 3 pairs of radial feeds in new underground ductbank with new selector switches at each building. As part of the tele/data portion of the project, we provided new single mode and multi mode fiber optic cables, category 5e copper riser cables and ½” coaxial cables from the existing MDF and PBX rooms to 35 existing buildings. The new cables were run in new underground ductbank and included new fiber optic patch panels and 110 blocks in the existing buildings.
