The $35 million Core II expansion project of the Widener Building was a highly sensitive vertical infill project to locate new surgical suites adjacent to existing Special Care Units. The highly articulated design and construction process allowed the infill to be built with limited scheduled down time.
PWI’s ongoing and long term work with Pennsylvania Hospital (since the early 1950’s) includes the total redevelopment of the obstetrical facilities including neonatal intensive care units, new nursery, new LDR rooms and postpartum patient care units, and specialized bone marrow transplant unit.
Strategic Energy Planning has helped the hospital with energy cost issues and the Central Chilled Water Plant Project was honored by the American Insitite of Plant Engineers Fame Award and the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania Achievement Award.
