The world of 3D and object oriented building design is an evolving and exciting technology. PWI has made a substantial investment in Building Information Modeling (BIM) applications and is one of the very few MEP engineers in the Philadelphia metropolitan area to fully utilize Revit for its design projects. Our production staff has enthusiastically adopted the utilization of these powerful tools and is dedicated to continuing the ongoing development and training in the latest software versions and updates. We have applied the use of Revit MEP to coordinate with architectural Revit models.
PWI is an active participant in the workflow between design team members and consultants – a completely collaborative environment where conflicts are easily recognizable, building calculations are automated, and schedules are automatically created and updated. We are working very closely with our architectural clients to coordinate our BIM efforts to provide the best project for our clients. PWI has a dedicated BIM “Model Manager” on each project who coordinates all in-house activity along with architectural/contractor communication.
