New Computer Center
- NIEHS is a 1.2 million square foot multi-building campus. The facility houses chemical and biological laboratories and performs research activities to allow the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to develop government regulations.
- Design-build Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) government contract to provide engineering and architectural services to complete the construction of a new Computer Center for the entire campus.
- The 2,500 square foot computer facility program included 30-ton Liebert units with remote condensing units, an 800 kW emergency generator with diesel storage tank, a 400 kW UPS system, security and fire alarm systems, expansion of the lighting protection and grounding system, and provisions for testing and commissioning of all the electrical power distribution components.
- The power distribution system design for this project included the design and layout of the data center service yard including the expansion of the primary radial loop at NIEHS from the primary switchgear. Design also included primary VFI transformer, associated high and low voltage duct banks, manholes and secondary electrical switchboard/panel distribution systems.
